University of Amsterdam (UvA) was founded in 1632 and is a world-class modern research university located in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. The University of Amsterdam ranks among the top 20 universities in Europe and the top 65 universities in the world, representing unlimited curiosity-learning, research and innovation to create a better world. The Amsterdam Business School under the University of Amsterdam is one of the best business schools in the Netherlands and Europe. It has obtained three world-class certifications: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. Only 1% of business schools in the world have these three crown certifications at the same time.


UvA is a global alliance of universities and research institutes, Universitas 21, and the European Capital University Alliance. UvA is recognized by the Dutch government and NVAO and is an important academic member of the European Research University Alliance (LERU).

The three-year Liberal Arts and Sciences Bachelor's programme is taught in English and has a strong offering in the sciences.

Linguistics -- In the Bachelor's programme in Linguistics, you will explore both the structure and acquisition of language as well as the diversity of language around the world. Plus, learn and study a new language yourself.

Literary and Cultural Analysis (Literary Studies) -- The Bachelor's in Literary and Cultural Analysis is perfectly suited to students who have a broad interest in contemporary culture, literature, the arts and that are fascinated by philosophical and political questions.
