The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), located in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China, is a world-renowned public comprehensive research university between eastern and western cultures and skyscrapers. Members of the Beijing-Hong Kong University Alliance, Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, China-EU Business School Alliance, Sino-Russian Engineering University Alliance, New Engineering Education International Alliance, Clinton Global Initiative University, Global Energy Internet University Alliance, PolyU School of Business Administration A business school with dual certification of AACSB and EQUIS.


The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is one of the oldest universities in Hong Kong. It can be traced back to the Hong Kong Government Advanced Institute of Technology established in 1937. It is the first government-funded institution in Hong Kong that provides engineering education; it was renamed Hong Kong Industry in 1947 Vocational College; The Hong Kong Polytechnic was established in 1972; in 1994, the Hong Kong law "The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Ordinance" came into effect, and the school was renamed The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. On March 5, 2020, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Foshan) project was included in the preliminary preparatory project plan for key construction in Guangdong Province.


The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's scientific research is application-oriented; it has jointly established scientific research centers with companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, Alibaba, Huawei, and State Grid; and it has established scientific research centers with Cambridge University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Renmin University of China, Xi'an Jiaotong Universities and other institutions conduct academic and teaching cooperation; develop space instruments for the European Space Agency, the Russian Federal Space Agency, China's lunar exploration project and Mars exploration program.


The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was rated as 7th in QS Under 50 Top 50 in 2019 due to its innovative educational methods, groundbreaking research and knowledge transfer achievements; QS Asian University ranked 31st in 2019, In 2022, QS World University is ranked 66th.
